Green Smoothie Recipe

Several people have wondered about this, so I’m going to post my recipe here and on FB.  My girls love these and they drink them down in just minutes.  (Straws really help if you have kids with texture issues!)  The original “green smoothie girl” was my inspiration and so I must give her credit! 

8 oz. water

1 lb. spinach

1 banana

1 apple

1 stalk of kale

1 avocado (now a MUST with my girls!   It makes the whole thing creamy like a milk shake!)

1 stalk of collard greens

2 Tablespoons orange juice concentrate

1 cup frozen blueberries

Occasionally I will double the blueberries or add a cup of frozen strawberries, but not always.  We drink at least one every single day, and many days we make them twice.  It is to the point now that when my girls are feeling run down or tired, they will ask to whip up a batch of these to jump start us again!  It works wonders, I promise!!

      Above comment is from the biggest sceptic himself! This is the man that eats veggies at the dinner table, “just to set an example, not by choice!” Believe me, he does not complain about these and he’s even willing to take the extra blender to work…..hey, wait…it is still here. Maybe he’s just bluffing! ;o)
